Help for Youth

Our Youth and Family Services offer additional programming for school-age youth (pre-kindergarten - high school) who are blind or visually impaired.  Our goal is to help your child enter adulthood ready for whatever path best fits his or her gifts and interests, whether that includes employment, independent living or advanced education.

Parent / Family Support

At Vision Forward, we understand the unique concerns you have as a parent or caregiver of a visually impaired child, and so we provide opportunities for you to network with other parents, share ideas and celebrate successes.  Our knowledgeable staff is prepared to help you navigate the intricacies of the school system to get what is best for your child, and is a helpful source of information about camps, scholarships braille resources, on-line parent support groups, educational webcasts and much more for children who are living with vision loss.

Teacher Support

We have a strong interest in working cooperatively with your child’s school teachers.  Our aim is to support the work that teachers do by reinforcing what is being taught in the classroom.  We also go beyond the classroom and provide field trips and other learning experiences to help foster the continued learning of youth who are visually impaired.  The environment we provide is one of acceptance and high expectations.
